Son of George Negus and Kristy Cockburn, he is no stranger to the camera. His father George is a renowned world journalist whose most famous works include 60 Minutes and Foreign Correspondent; and his mum is a renowned photographer and artist. He has an older brother, Ned.
When Serge's parents read in the newspaper that a local production company (Bangalow Productions) was looking for a boy to play Mick Dundee's son in Crocodile Dundee in L.A., they made a short home video of Serge talking to his Grandpa about his pet blue-tounged lizard, Huffy. Casting director Maura Fay was "knocked out by his performance", said director Simon Wincer.
Serge plays soccer and loves reptiles. He has 5 snakes, 1 gecko, 1 pink-tongued skink, 1 blue-tongued lizard and a dog!
