Mini Biography

Christopher Rodriguez Marquette is a Cuban American with over 30 years of incredibly versatile work in film, television, stage and V.O. Widely respected for his turns in comedy and drama. Most recently seen on HBOs Barry, in what's now considered a series defining scene as the innocent victim who Bill Hader's character kills in 'the car scene'. He also brought his comedy chops to Quibi's The Fugitive, opposite Glen Howerton and Boyd Holbrook. And has recently been playing a lovable shyster on CBS's Magnum P.I.

His large body of work includes some now beloved classics like The Girl Next Door, stealing the show opposite Emile Hirsch and Paul Dano. The unforgettable little brother to Ryan Reynolds in Just Friends. The endearing stoner opposite Justin Timberlake in Alpha Dog. And the charming every man in under the radar cult film Fanboys. He starred opposite Seth Rogen, Kristen Bell, Danny McBride, Will Forte and Craig Robinson.

Other films include The Rocks Race to Witch Mountain. 'James Cameron Presented' Broken Horses alongside the late Anton Yelchin and Vincent Donofrio. Other TV credits include playing Mozart in Amazon's Mozart in the Jungle and FOX's Lucifer as well as a regular playing Amber Tamblyn's love interest in the CBS Emmy nominated drama Joan of Arcadia.

He has won numerous festival awards and was nominated for a Gotham Award for his work with lauded filmmaker Todd Solondz. And he received a nomination for an MTV Movie Award alongside Anna Farris for 'Best Kiss'. (They lost to Jake and Heath for their kiss in Brokeback Mountain.)

He hosts a podcast called The Coogan Chronicles where former child actors are interviewed about their time performing as kids. He is also a stand up comedian performing around Los Angeles and this year he is planning on making his directorial debut with a film he wrote and will star in.

• In 1999, he attended his high school homecoming dance with fellow Disney Channel star Christy Carlson Romano.
• Appeared as a semi-regular on Strong Medicine from 2000-2005 and as a full-fledged regular on Joan of Arcadia from 2003-2005.
• He has two younger brothers, actors Eric Marquette and Sean Marquette.
• Was born on the same day as Ashlee Simpson.
• He and his Joan of Arcadia (2003) co-star Jason Ritter also starred together in Freddy vs. Jason (2003) and The Education of Charlie Banks (2007).
• Performed Tiny Tim in "A Christmas Carol" at Madison Square Garden with actress Meredith Patterson.
• Was to appear in a 2007 remake of Revenge of the Nerds (1984) starring Adam Brody but after three weeks of filming the project was canceled.
• Guest starred with Joan of Arcadia co-star Michael Welch in the Criminal Minds episode "JJ" (2010). The actor who plays Joan's father, Joe Mantegna, is a regular cast member of Criminal Minds.
• Son of Patricia Helen (née Marquette) and Jorge Luis Rodriguez, a nuclear engineer who came to the United States as a Cuban refugee.
• Quoted as saying, "My dad is a Cuban refugee. Lots of my family have told me stories about how they wept when they boarded American planes in the 60s and stewardesses gave them warm bottles of milk for their babies. They say they'd never known such kindness. My dad is a nuclear engineer now".
