Mini Biography
Rio Mangini is a classically trained pianist, actor, and film composer. This veteran of television & film is known for his portrayal of the acerbic "McQuaid" on the acclaimed Netflix Original Series "Everything Sucks".

A classical piano prodigy~ Rio made his Carnegie Hall debut at 9 years old.

As a child Rio appeared in several hit Disney and Nickelodeon series. Entering his teen years he moved on to diverse roles on "Teen Wolf" (MTV) " Lethal Weapon" (FOX) and General Hospital (ABC).

Rio has several pilots under his belt- recently "The Lost Boys" for The CW- in the role of Sam (portrayed by Corey Haim in the film) and "Guess Who Died" (NBC) for legendary producer Norman Lear working alongside icons Hector Elizondo, Christopher Lloyd, and Holland Taylor.

A music and sound aficionado - dad is Oscar-winning sound designer Mark A. Mangini (Mad Max: Fury Road- Blade Runner: 2049) - Rio has released 2 electronic tracks- "Rio & Fugue" with Champions of Justice and "Continue" with renowned producer Kezwik.

While starring in the Spectrevision feature "Bitch" (Sundance) the producers asked him to create musical themes to accompany his character on screen. He composed three pieces of music and thus his film composition career was born. Rio has scored 2 Independent feature films- The teen-bullying indie feature "Reach" (Capricelli) and he both scored and stars in "Relish" (MANM Productions) about a group of misfit teens who escape a residential treatment center led by a rebellious transgender teen. Rio spent the summer of 2017 in Portland filming the Netflix Series "Everything Sucks". He would film all day and spend the nights in his hotel room composing the music for the score of Reach.

Rio has won 7 Young Artist Awards and Young Entertainer Awards with 12 nominations in total.
